Nursing Education &Training Programme
The entry of the corporate sector in medical and health services has enhanced medical opportunities for nurses in India. The numbers of qualified professionals of nursing available are very less as against the number of job openings in the hospitals and nursing homes. We at AMOGHA recognized the escalating need for nurses, in India, in the mounting complexities of new ailments and diseases for health promotion, maintenance, and cost effective coordinated care. Therefore, we provided extensive education and training at lowest possible cost to the financially weaker section of the society to become nursing professionals. 150 such young minds were moulded and trained to function with independence in: clinical decision-making; case management; direct patient care; guiding patients through the maze of health care resources; and educating patients on treatment regimens and adoption of healthy life styles. They were trained to deal with patients in a multi specialty hospital, at a community health centre, at a mental hospital and a government hospital.
They were trained to
……to have greater appreciation for professionalism, human values and welfare……
……creating and sustaining a century of life……
……to work extensively for the creation of new knowledge.…..
……to provide leadership to ensure sufficient numbers of highly qualified professional nurses…..
.…..to acquire knowledge and skills and develop as world class professionals and individuals, in today’s challenging world.…..
Illness Awarenwss Movement – IAM
Social welfare is not only achieved by the programmes we provide but also by empowering the ones in need of healthcare by directly making them the recipients of the benefits of healthcare knowledge we impart to students.

Educational & Literacy Programme
Considering the very high level of child illiteracy, and aware of our responsibility, Amogha has started organizing educational programme for boys and girls of poor families in the nearby villages of Rajapur block of Ghaziabad District. Under this programme frequent camps were organized to teach the young children free of cost. The parents of these children were also counseled to encourage their wards to learn to read and write. The participating children have shown positive signs to get educated and have agreed to encourage others also to join the programme. Attempts are being made at our level also to promote the programme at a bigger and larger level and to encourage many more children to benefit from the programme. Considering the overwhelming response of the children and their parents, we have adopted this programme on a continuous basis.
Youth Development Programme
The youth of the rural areas were provided educational programmes on professional and life skills enhancement and personality development and were given exposure to the latest employment ventures and avenues to start their own ventures. Programmes on Leadership training and communication skills were organized for the youth of the rural areas to benefit from it. Career guidance and counseling was also a part of this camp. Besides this cultural activities and competitions were also organized: namely – debates, singing & dancing competition, rangoli competition, art competition, skits and quiz to name a few. Races and tournaments of Badminton, Throw ball, Cricket, Volley ball, Kho-Kho and Kabaddi were also organized. The yoga programme helped the youth to keep fit and healthy. These events and camps shall be organized by us regularly every year to benefit the youth as much as possible.
Health & Nursing Care Programme
With the ever increasing inflation and living costs, it has virtually become impossible for an average person to take medicines and medical care as and when required. Therefore, AMOGHA took initiative to provide FREE medicine and medical and nursing care to the under privileged section of the society. We organized Health and nursing care camps 3 -4 times in the year at the nearby villages and provided free examination and consultation to the villagers and distributed free medicines. And looking at the overwhelming response of the camp, we decided to conduct this camp every year regularly on a bigger scale so as to benefit larger number of patients.
HIV / AIDS Control Programme
Young people are more vulnerable to AIDS than adults; girls more than boys. Gender imbalances, societal norms and economic dependence contribute to this risk. Lack of access to correct information (almost 73 percent of young people have misconceptions about modes of HIV transmission), tendency to experiment and an environment which makes discussing issues around sexuality taboo adds to their vulnerability. Most young people become sexually active during adolescence. In the absence of right guidance and information at this stage they are more likely to have multi-partner unprotected sex with high risk behaviour groups. Particularly vulnerable are impoverished, unemployed, under-employed, mobile/migrant youth, adolescents in sex work, young injecting drug users and street children as they are faced with high risk behaviour in their everyday life. They are also less likely to have information on the risks of contracting HIV and means of protecting themselves from the infection.
Young women are biologically more vulnerable to HIV infection than young men – a situation aggravated by their lack of access to information on HIV and even lesser power to exercise control over their sexual lives. Early marriage also poses special risks to young people, particularly women. This is especially relevant for India, where almost 50 percent girls are married off by the time they are 18 years of age.
Therefore this AIDS Education and control Programme was conceptualized by AMOGHA to build up life skills of adolescents and address issues relating to growing up. All channels of communication were engaged to spread awareness about HIV/AIDS, promote safe behaviours and increase condom usage and take precautions during blood transfusions and injections. The males were even advised to ensure use of fresh blades for shaving at a barber shop. Voluntary counseling and testing was promoted. The interventions for prevention of parent to child transmission were also started with a strategy for Greater Involvement of People with HIV/AIDS. The objective of this programme is to control the spread of AIDS infection and road shows and possessions and meeting and camps at the villages were organized for the same.
Pulse Polio Awareness Programme
Despite of so many loud claims made by the government authorities, it is true that they have not been able to eradicate polio from the country and it is still a burning problem of the society. Realizing the gravity of the problem and our duty towards the society, we at Amogha organized camps for administering Polio Drops and Polio Vaccination. A large number of children were vaccinated and their parents educated on the importance of the vaccination.
Family Planning Awareness Programme
The explosion of population is a major threat to the very being of our nation. There are more mouths to feed then the ones who feed them. The resources are falling short day by day to cater to the needs of every individual and the growing population has become a big impediment in the growth of our nation. This very urgent need of population control was addressed by Amogha to the masses of the nearby villages in the camps organized to advocate family planning. The adults and the youth were made aware of the need and the various ways available to do family planning. They were made aware of the benefits of family planning and how in the long run they as an individual would gain from it.
Environment Awareness Programme
Global warming, Deforestation and Pollution Control are some of the very vital concerns of every country today. A lot needs to be done to save our environment, so as to save the human race from extinction. Equally concerned about it, Amogha launched campaigns and counseling sessions to educate the masses about the urgent and dire need to save the environment. The eminent speakers discussed the factors leading to pollution and degradation of environment. The masses were advised to stop cutting trees, to stop use of plastics and were encouraged to recycle the waste. A workshop was also conducted to recycle waste and to use it to make useful things of daily use from the waste. They were educated on the causes of global warming and the effects of it on our lives and those of the coming generations. They were even educated on the alternative sources of fuel and energy like Biogas and Solar Cookers. Given the occurrence of rapid global warming, it was the least we could do and contribute our bit for a better future.
